Faro de LARIÑO- Carnota - Galiza. El Faro Fecha de construcción: 1913-1921 Altura de la luz sobre el mar: 27 m. Alcance de la luz: 20 millas (37 Km.) Se encuentra en el lugar conocido como Punta Ínsua. Constituye el punto geográfico que ayuda a fijar la entrada en el arco de Finisterre y la ría de Corcubión. En las cercanías existía a principios de siglo un molino de viento, del cual sólo se conservan hoy en día los cimientos. En las restingas rocosas de Punta Ínsua naufragó el destructor de la marina española "Ariete" en 1966. La rápida intervención de los vecinos hizo posible el salvamento de la tripulación. En agradecimiento al valor demostrado, la Marina de guerra hizo concesión al Municipio de Carnota del título de "Muy humanitaria", quedando reflejado este echo en el escudo oficial del municipio. Merece la pena acercarse al atardecer, cuando la puesta de sol tiñe de colores la inmensidad del Atlántico. |
