Summary
[edit]DescriptionFarnton Hill - geograph.org.uk - 905038.jpg |
English: Farnton Hill, Long Riston, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Small hill surrounded by plantations in the northeast of Riston parish close to Rise Park. There has been a training course for race horses here since the 19th century and the first circular track around Farnton Hill may have been created by William Bethell of Rise, whose horse won the St. Leger in 1780. There is a 'no entry' sign on every track leading onto the hill. |
