COLOOB OF PLUfAlESome excellent breeders have very deep bronzefeathers in the tail. The great thing is that thestock birds should be of one even shade o; l)uflri-ht through—not one shade in the neck hackle,another on the back, still another on the wing,and the undei- i>arts light. Each feather sliouk!be buff to the skin, and the shaft of the featheras deep in colour. One cannot get a perfect biri,but at any rate the body plumage and vingflights should be absolutely sound to tho ekin,even if the neck hackle shows rather light to-wards the base of the feather and tho cock Lasa feather or two in the tail, so dark asto be nearly black and the hen showsa little dark peppering in the tail.
