PEONIES Choice Herbnceous Varieties
The most popular of all hardy herbaceous plants, admired by every-
body, and so easily grown that no one with even the most limited garden
space should be without one or more. They are perfectly hardy, thriving
in almost any soil either in the open or light shade. Well enriched loam,
however, suits them best, carefully avoiding an over abundance of fresh
manure close to the roots.

Dnche.ss de Vflinours — White, with sulphur-white collar, fragrant, early.
Duke of AVellington — Large, globe shaped, white with sulphur center, late.
Elegrans— Dark rose, with salmon center.
Faust — Glblje shaped, shell pink, with sulphur-white collar, medium early.
Felix Croussc — Large, globe shaped, brilliant red.
Festiva Maxima — Very large, globe shaped, pure white, flecked crimson,
early.
Fragrance Maxima — Globe shaped, dark pink, late.
FrancoLs Ortejerat — Purplish crimson with golden anthers.
Grandlflora Alba — Large pure white.
Lamartine — Large lilac-rose, center shaded darker, spicy fragrance.
L'Esperance — Large, early, rose-pink.
Monsienr Jnlcs EUe — Very large, early globe shaped, pale lilac-rose,
shaded amber at base, very fragrant.
Monsieur Krelage — Dark solferino-red, with silvery tips. late.
Rubra Triumphans — Large, loose, globe shaped, semi-double very dark
crimson medium early.

HARDY LILIES
For Spring or Fall Planting.
Bulbs ready from September to November.
These Lilies may be planted either in
spring or fall in good garden soil that is well
drained; light, sandy ground is best. Cover
the bulbs at least nine inches. They a.re per-
fectly hardy and bloom from August to Octo-
ber.

White, with a golden band on each petal
and beautifully spotted. Very fragrant.
