Summary
[edit]| Description | Looking out from the Shanghai Huangpu River cruise boat towards the Pudong skyline, this is a far view of the Shanghai Financial Tower. This currently the tallest skyscraper in Shanghai or maybe even in China. About the cruise itself, there are several tour lengths one can choose from, from a 30-minute cruise to a 3½-hour cruise. The cruises along the Huangpu River generally start from the wharf near the Bund, and head towards Yangpu Bridge or Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal, and back again along the opposite side of the river to the Bund. At present, the most popular one is the 50-minute classic cruise, which is what I am on right now. The cruises are available during the day and night and operate to fixed schedules. (you saw the lighted LED schedule sign in the terminal a few pictures earlier). The night cruse is generally highly recommended to take a cruise at night when the river is veiled in the sparkling neon lights on both sides. I had to unfortunately pass as the day cruise was what was included in my tour. At any rate, I had to leave for Huangzhou early the following morning and at any rate it was drizzling heavily that night. (Shanghai, China, May 2017) |
