Fourth combination, outline stems and leaves with pale gold; outlineand fill in first cherry in the cluster with a shade of gold one degree deeperthan that used for stems and leaves; outline and fill in the next cherry witha still deeper shade of gold, and for the third use a shade deeper yet. This will give a scheme of color in yellow gold, ranging from thefaintest tint to a medium deep yellow. This method of coloring gives theeffect of elaborate shading, and is beautiful. The foregoing illustrations and suggestions will give the reader a gea-eral idea of the proper use and combination of embroidery stitches, andwill serve as a stimulus to the inventive worker, who will not be satisfied toblindly follow our models, but will seek to mark out new lines of work forherself. 58 DAINTY WORK FOR PLEASURE AND PROFIT.
