I'm not sure if it's still the case but many years ago when I could call myself a Sydney-sider you didn't have to wear life vests, you didn't have to wear floatation a device and you could swim wherever and whenever you wanted even if it was dangerously by the rocks. Now that times have changed I heard that you get some sort of whopping monster fine if you don't vest up. Before this turns into a 2 week political debate let me say that when I took this photo the scene at La Perouse Sydney was almost pitch black. As such I set the camera on manual and was amazed at how much of the scene I could pull back shooting just 1 RAW file. As I was processing this image I think I gained some new found awareness in trying to balance out the light and dark sections. Although I would've liked the eye to be drawn from a darker to a brighter light source, I think the blues and purples shaped this image well and gave the image some good balance in the mid ground. My post processing processes stayed the same. Local adjustments + cropping in Lightroom then noise and random object cleaning in Photoshop.
