English: German film director Arnold Heinrich Fanck (1889–1974) with his first son Arnold Ernst Fanck (1919–1994) inside the villa Am Sandwerder 39 in Berlin-Nikolassee, Germany, playing chess. Arnold junior attended the private boarding-school Freie Schulgemeinde in Wickersdorf near Saalfeld in Thuringia Forest from 1930 to 1938, where he graduated (Abitur).
