Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The German film maker Arnold Fanck (1889–1974) aboard a ship, probably when filming on different sets in Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego and the Juan Fernández Islands for his upcoming movie A German Robinson Crusoe (1940) whose raw material was not accepted by Joseph Goebbels. The chief of the Nazi propaganda regarded the figure of Robinson as antisocial and in so far as an unwanted role model in Nazi ideology which was referring to a so called „Volksgemeinschaft“ (= people's community). Due to his orders the filmed material was cut to a profane propaganda movie for the German Navy.
