Title
English: Family planting a tree, ca. 1927
Description
English: Logging removed the trees from Seattle's many hills. As the city grew, neighborhoods were built on the bare, logged-over land. Some developers added trees along the streets of their new neighborhoods. Families and individuals also planted trees, shrubs and flowers.

In this photo, taken around 1927, a Seattle family plants a tree near the street in front of their house.
