Description

SAN DIEGO (March 26, 2013) Family members of Sailors assigned to the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Asheville (SSN 758) watch as the boat departs San Diego for a scheduled six-month deployment to the western Pacific region. Asheville is supporting the Chief of Naval Operations' maritime strategy, which includes maritime security, forward presence, sea control, and power projection.
