Summary
[edit]DescriptionFallow deer east of Culverley Farm, New Forest - geograph.org.uk - 142556.jpg |
English: Fallow deer east of Culverley Farm, New Forest. Fallow deer are a common sight in the New Forest - this herd was grazing on private land east of Culverley Farm, but when disturbed they stand with heads erect, ears pricked up, ready to run. In this photo they have their winter coats (mulberry with a pale belly) althout their most distinctive feature - a black-bordered white rump - stays throughout the year. The deer have no trouble leaping standard-height fences and hop in and out of the private farmland within and on the border of the Forest. |
