Description
English: Welcome Arch, also known as the Victory Arch, which was built for the July 4, 1919, a gigantic city-wide welcome home celebration for all World War I veterans, spanned Main Street in front of old city hall, now the government center. It was topped by a New York sculptor's rendition of Winged Victory, and was not torn down until Jan 8, 1920.
