Summary
[edit]DescriptionFairchild XNQ circa 1995.JPG |
English: Fairchild XNQ (T-31) (Model M-92) prototype trainer for the US Air Force. BuNo. 75726 was considered by the USAF in 1949 as a replacement for the AT-6 as a primary trainer. Fairchild received a contract for 100 aircraft as the model 129, USAF designation T-31. However, the order was cancelled later in 1949, in favor of the Beech T-34 Mentor. Two XNQs were built; the second, pictured here at an airport in Maryland, USA, was still owned and registered as airworthy in 2005. |
