Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Axial shear failure of a threaded insert (helicoil-style) in a cast aluminium part. Note bits of sheared-off aluminium retained between the steel wire of the insert. The bolt is used to adjust the cutter spacing in a shredder and bears the full cutting forces as an axial thrust load. The bolt is a fine-pitch M10 or something like that.
