Summary

[edit]
Description Membrane failure occurs with most bridge pavements. The use of a bare high performance concrete (HPC) deck reinforced with solid stainless steel as a part of the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Vtrans replacement structure was an effort to employ innovative technology in the new single span integral abutment bridge to make it a highly durable, low maintenance structure. Other innovations included the superstructure of weathering steel girders and a curbless, deck rail system.
