Dana McCarty - Vocals, melodica Paul Marche - Contra Bass & Electric Basses Mac McGowan – unrestored 1909 Cornet and 1926 Flugelhorn

The Oregon based band originated in late 2010. Faerabella started as a duo jazz band with Dana McCarty as the song writer and vocalist, and Paul Marche as the contrabass player. In early 2011 Mac McGowan joined as Faerabella's horn player. Their unique, simple sound of vocals, horn, and contrabass makes for a dark cabaret jazz experience.

Starting out at local open mics they quickly gained a fan base in their home town of Salem, Oregon. After securing a strong audience in Salem, they moved on to wine and art festivals. They also play trendy bars, clubs, and historic venues in Portland, Oregon. Their first CD "Madame Racio" came out in late August 2011. Their second album "Lenora's Ghost" is scheduled to be released October 31st 2012.

One music critic who writes for Rolling Stone Magazine wrote: “Faerabella, Madame Racio: Okay, this is pretty neat. A trio of vocals, contrabass, and brass. A moody cabaret sound that, in my opinion, is simply irresistible. Dana McCarty on vocals has a sense of the dramatic, but doesn’t push it into retro-kitsch territory. Contrabass and brass instruments aren’t there for the novelty of it; it all works seamlessly. This one caught me off guard with its likability.” — J. Edward Keyes, emusic
