Description
English:
Faculty team that won its annual baseball game against Seniors, USC, 1916
Photograph of faculty team that won its annual baseball game against Seniors, USC, 1916. A man is sitting before a sign "Faculty 5 Seniors 1" posted on a rectangular board(?) with six men standing behind him and one on his right. "Seniors won? Traditionally, USC's Seniors challenged the Faculty to a baseball game, as the upperclassmen neared that glorious milestone--Commencement. The Seniors were supposed to win the games each year. But if the sign in this 1916 photo is correct, the faculty were victors that year . Man with the goatee(center) is Tully Knoles; the player wearing the bandanna, Rockwell Dennis Hunt; at the far right, Coach Dean Cromwell" -- The Trojan gallery, p. 58.
