Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This shot of a manufacturing plant was in an unknown location, and while a number of theories were offered on its purpose and location (and headaches for those peering at the poster on the pillar) nothing concrete arose - for a while. We thought it might stand as a mystery - until the intrepid [/photos/91549360@N03/ Dr O Mac] returned from an outside broadcast assignment in Salthill, and knocked it out of the park with a corroborated theory as to the purpose, location and (likely) date of the photo. The intrepid doctor suggests that this is one of a number of alcohol distilleries/ethanol plants which were funded by government in the 1930s - and proposed that the one in "our" shot could be one two facilities at either Carrickmacross Co Monaghan or Carndonagh, Co Donegal. (More likely the latter)
