Description

Об освобождении великого князя Васи- лия Шемякой. В лето 6955 князь Дмитрий Шемяка пошел на Углич, желая выпу- стить великого князя и его детей. Пошли с ним и все епископы, и честные архиман- дриты, и игумены. Придя в Углич, выпустил великого князя и его детей, каясь и прося прощения. А князь великий перед ним Об освобождении великого князя Васи- лия Шемякой. В лето 6955 князь Дмитрий Шемяка пошел на Углич, желая выпу- стить великого князя и его детей. Пошли с ним и все епископы, и честные архиман- дриты, и игумены. 144 смирился и во всем вину сам на себя воз- ложил, что «и не так мне следовало по- страдать за мои грехи и беззакония мно- гие, и за нарушения крестного целования перед вами, перед всеми старшими братьями и перед всем православным хри- стианством, которое изгубил и еще хотел изгубить до конца; достоин я отсечения головы, но ты, госу- дарь мой, показал на мне милосердие, не погубил меня за без- законие мое, каюсь в зле моем». Это же и иное многое сказав, чему нет числа и что описать невозможно. Когда говорил он, сле- зы текли из очей его, как ручьи, так что все бывшие там дивились таковому смирению и умилению, и плака-
