Français : Ce schéma montre comment les différents systèmes de fibre optique varient en fonction de la distance entre la fibre optique et l'utilisateur final. Le bâtiment à gauche représente l'opérateur ; le bâtiment à droite représente un des bâtiments desservi par l'opérateur. Les rectangles en pointillé représentent les appartements ou bureaux du bâtiment.

Légende

  • FTTN: Fibre to the node, aussi appelé Fibre to the neighborhood ou fibre to the cabinet (FTTCab).
  • FTTC: Fibre to the curb, aussi appelé fibre to the kerb (FTTK).
  • FTTB: Fibre to the building.
  • FTTH: Fibre to the home.
Dans un but de simplification, ce schéma élimine certains détails. Sont principalement absent les points de distribution à partir desquels les câbles seraient branchés aux autres bâtiments.
