Not a novelist that I have read, though from what little I know of her allegedly raunchy work I suspect that if Tony Harrison's telephone character who changed trains at York Railway Station (five minutes walk away), had bumped into one of Freya North's heroines then both might well have been pleased with the encounter, or maybe they did get it together:- CHANGING AT YORK "I used 2p to lie about the train I missed and ten more to talk to some girl’s bed" Tony Harrison. Freya North has set two recent novels in the Teesside area (currently my home locality), Secrets and Pillow Talk. As Middlesbrough's iconic Transporter Bridge and Saltburn-on-Sea feature I'll maybe give her a go in the New Year. |
