Deutsch: Energiediagramm des FRET am Beispiel des Fluorophorenpaars YFP - CFP.
Der Donor CFP wird durch Licht der Wellenlänge 436 nm (blau) angeregt. Der größte Teil seiner Energie wird jedoch nicht für die Emission von 480 nm (zyanblau) verwendet, sondern wird strahlungsfrei via FRET auf den Akzeptor YFP übertragen. Als Folge wird hauptsächlich gelbes Licht mit 535 nm emittiert.
