Description |
Nederlands: Not all trams on this line reached Kortrijk. Tram 2, which we see in this photo, did not travel further than Oostkamp. The last stop there was the gendarmerie barracks. For some (inexplicable) reason these trams were popularly called 'Kamieltje'. This nickname was not only limited to Bruges and the surrounding area. The fuel oil tram was also called that in the other provinces. This tram continued to run until 1951, the year in which the line was abolished and the more mobile bus took over part of public transport. In the background we see the café 'In de Drie Koningen'. |
