English: Trends are changing, and the number of girls and women who choose STEM careers in Russia is gradually increasing. In the photo, FMN Laboratory women engineers are studying SEM images of Josephson junctions, the key elements of nanoscale devices manufactured in the cleanroom. To ensure the performance of such systems, scientists are dealing with incredibly small - nanometer - dimensions and work on unique equipment. The entire range of technologies developed at BMSTU will be used in almost all areas of future innovations: from neuromorphic computing to smart sensors that drive Industry 4.0. and the Internet of Things.
Русский: Тренды меняются, и сегодня в ведущем российском техническом университете девушек становится все больше. На фото сотрудницы НОЦ ФМН за электронным сканирующим микроскопом исследуют СЭМ-изображения джозефсоновских переходов – ключевых элементов вычислительных процессоров нового поколения. Команда работает на уникальных единицах оборудования, поскольку имеет дело с невероятно малыми размерами: если представить всю микросхему размером с Россию, то джозефсоновский переход на ней – это Москва-река. Создаваемые в МГТУ им. Н.Э. Баумана технологии будут использоваться практически во всех сферах инноваций будущего: от нейроморфных процессоров до сенсоров для Индустрии 4.0 и Интернета вещей. |
