| Description |
c/n 050 Built for the Fuerza Aerea Argentina and operated by them until captured by British Forces at Port Stanley Airfield in the Falkland Islands on 14th June 1982. She was one of three Pucaras brought back to the UK and was allocated the British military serial ZD487 for evaluation purposes. Of the three, only ZD485 (previously A-515) flew in the UK, with both ZD486 (previously A-522) and ZD487 acting only as sources of spares. ZD487 later became part of the Imperial War Museum collection and was moved to Duxford. She has never had a nose cone while at Duxford, although a set of propellers and undamaged canopy were eventually found and fitted. She has now had her outer wings removed, presumably to save space, and is seen stored in Hangar 5. Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire, UK 19th September 2021 |
