Description |
English: A cast lead bulla of Pope Innocent IV (1242-54). Faintly visible on the front is the usual depiction of the faces of St Peter and St Paul and traces of the legend S'PA S'PE, all within a beaded border. On the back is the inscription INNO/CENTIVS/P'P IIII, again within a beaded border. The bulla is bent over at the top (making the front face concave) and is worn and marked.
