| Description | A Vought F-8E Crusader (BuNo. 150306) from Marine fighter squadron VMF(AW)-212 Lancers on the catapult of the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) in 1965. VMF(AW)-212 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing Sixteen (CVW-16) aboard the Oriskany for a deployment to Vietnam. VMF(AW)-212 kept its tail code "WD", although CVW-16´s aircraft carried the tail code "AH". |
