[edit]DescriptionF-4S Phantoms Naval Reserve 1983.jpeg | Two U.S. Naval Reserve McDonnell Douglas F-4S Phantom II aircraft in flight on 15 May 1983: An F-4S from fighter squadron VF-301 Devil's Deciples, foreground, and an F-4S aircraft from fighter squadron VF-302 Stallions. Note that the F-4S in the foreground carries a "MiG kill" marking. This is BuNo 155749, while still an F-4J it was flown by Lt. Steven C. Shoemaker and Lt.(jg) Keith V. Crenshaw, who shot down a North Vietnamese MiG-17 while flying with VF-96 Fighting Falcons, Carrier Air Wing Nine (CVW-9), from USS Constellation (CVA-64), on 10 May 1972 (tail code "NG 111"). |
