[edit]DescriptionF-18C of VFA-83 lands on USS Eisenhower (CVN-69) with frigate Hamburg (F220) in the background 2013.jpg |
English: A U.S. Navy McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the Rampagers of Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-83 lands on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69) as the German Navy frigate Hamburg (F220) transits alongside. The German frigate was the first German ship to fully integrate and deploy with a U.S. Navy carrier strike group. The Hamburg was to stay a part of the strike group until the group's completion of operations in the U.S. 5th Fleet Area of Responsibility (Arabian Sea). |
