Description
English:
Street sign. The name of the village Gomba menas mushroom. According archeologist, this regieon was inhabited in the Stone and Bronze Ages. SW of the village is the Varhegy (Castle Mountain) area, where excavated relics, stone and bone implements earthen wares and bronze needles close to the 'pagan-castle' earth fortification. The first chartered data about the village is from 1337. Gomba was under Turkish influece from mid 16th century. In teh 16th century majority odóf the population was alreaady Calvinist. The 'small register' contains names of local pastors from 1642. In the 17th centurythe Fáy family became the owner of the village. 'Two parcel village form' village till 19th century, the plots have two inner parts and the house part was not separated fromgarden part. Around the village were the barnyards for barns and animal shelter for winter periods. - Fáy András Street, Főszeg neighborhood, Gomba, Pest County, Hungary.
