Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Eyeworth Wood, New Forest. Eyeworth wood is an area of typical New Forest "ancient and ornamental" woodland, with oak and beech and an understorey of holly. There is plenty of fallen, dead and decaying wood contributing to the rich ecosystem. The main difference between this and deciduous woodland elsewhere in the country is the lack of ground flora - most of it is eaten by the commoners' stock (mainly ponies and donkeys).
