English: Eyespot experiment on cattle in Botswana. On left, artificial eyespots; centre, cross markings; on right, unmarked control. None of the eyespot-marked cattle were killed during the study, but 4 of the cross-marked and 15 unmarked animals were killed by lions or leopards.
