The body portion isvery thin, but increases in thickness from the forelegs to the topof the head, as shown in the outline drawing. The under-body sur-face is flat, but the lower part of the head is rounded. The objectis drilled for suspension, the hole passing through the neck. Theupper part of the head is rounded and the eyes are represented bydots. The legs, tail, and distended sides of the body are cut inrelief. Two parallel lines crossing the neck enclose three dots;this necklace-like decoration is similar to the bands that ornamentthe two bird figures found by Mr Bell. BEADS The shell beads found with the skele-tons, all of aboriginal manufacture, are offive kinds, namely: typical wampum beads;long, cylindrical beads; those made of oli-vella shells; those spherical in form; andlarge disc-beads. The disc-beads were found with Skele-tons 7, 26, 29, and 30, and already havebeen described
