English: Exmouth: The National Coastwatch Institution tower The National Coastwatch Institution (NCI) http://www.nci.org.uk/ is an organisation whose volunteers keep a visual watch along the shores of the United Kingdom, from Cornwall in the South West to Wearside in the North East, assisting in the protection and preservation of life at sea and around the coastline. Currently there are thirty six fully operational NCI stations that are manned by some 1500 volunteers.
This is the Exmouth station occupying the former sailing club tower. The local station website is here http://www.nciexmouth.org.uk/ and there is a webcam in the tower pointing in this direction here http://www.nciexmouth.org.uk/web_camera.htm |
