Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Exmouth: Glenorchy United Reformed Church The church is named after Lady Glenorchy who on visiting Exmouth in 1776 noted what she perceived to be its spiritual poverty and who consequently funded the construction of the first Noncorformist place of worship in the town. The present church dates from 1869 and is on Exeter Road, seen here, at its junction with Meeting Street. The church http://www.glenorchychurch.org/index.html voted to become part of the United Reformed Church when it was established in 1972. Unfortunately the fine tree in front of the church prevents any reasonable summer time photography of the front façade and one is limited to this view showing the blue-painted belfry.
