Exclave Hemmeres, Belgium and German Border, Vennbahn, Between 1920 and 1958 Source: German Topographic map, Sheet #3312, Situation 1893, published 1895 The river marks the border between Belgium (western side) and Germany (eastern side). The railroad track itself also belonged to Belgium. Thus the area beetween the railroad track and the river was a german exclave inside Belgium territory.
