| Description |
English: The basic tectonic structures of the Earth are the starting point for dividing the relief of the upper surface of the earth's crust and defining geomorphological units of the highest orders. The georelief of Europe was divided into geomorphological areas: the Alpine-Himalayan region, the Baltic shield, the Caledonian region, the East European platform and the Hercyn region. An overview of the layout on the European continent is illustrated by Czech labels in photography. These are the geomorphological units of the European first order, termed the first-level geomorphological system in Czech Republic (Czechia). Geomorphological areas are subdivided into sub-areas (in the Czech Republic geomorphological subsystem of the second level) and a lower geomorphological units. From the European system of the 4th order, the third level of geomorphological units in the Czech Republic with the general name of the province is derived (Czech Highland, Western Carpathians, West Pannonian Basin and from the European 3rd Order "Central European Lowland"). Čeština: Základní tektonické struktury Země jsou výchozím bodem pro členění reliéfu svrchní plochy zemské kůry a definici geomorfologických jednotek nejvyšších řádů. Georeliéf Evropy byl rozdělen do geomorfologických oblastí: Alpsko-himálajská oblast, Baltský štít, Hercynská oblast, Kaledonská oblast a Východoevropská platforma. Přehled uspořádání na evropském kontinentu ilustrují české popisky ve fotografii. Jsou to geomorfologické jednotky evropského prvního řádu, v Česku označované jako geomorfologický systém první úrovně. Geomorfologické oblasti se člení na podoblasti (v Česku geomorfologický subsystém druhé úrovně) a nižší geomorfologické jednotky. Z evropského systému 4. řádu je odvozena třetí úroveň geomorfologických jednotek v České republice se společným názvem provincie (Česká vysočina, Západní Karpaty, Západopanonská pánev a z evropského 3. řádu Středoevropská nížina). V popisku na fotografii ve slově „himálajská" nesprávně uvedená délka samohlásky "a" nad druhou samohláskou ve slově, správně má být "Alpsko-himálajská oblast".
