English: Evolation Yoga, 476 Rhode Island Street at 19th Street, Buffalo, New York, July 2021. Italianate in style with characteristic round-arched windows on the top floor, the building was erected in 1890 by building contractor George Klein, who operated a meeting hall on the second floor. Over the next thirty years, Klein's Hall offered up space for a wide variety of groups and events, from fraternal lodges to political caucuses to religious congregations that lacked their own building. Downstairs was Vaegele Bros. Grocery, run by brothers Charles and Frank and operated at this address until their move to Elmwood Avenue in 1903, whence the ghost signs visible on the side of the building advertising a couple of different grain products: a faded sign for H-O Oatmeal is seen below the nameplate, and a much better preserved ad for "Washburn-Crosby's Gold Medal Flour" (manufactured just a few miles away at the Frontier Elevator) is below. The Evolation yoga studio has occupied the space since 2016.
