English: Evil Combe. A view of 23446, where two arms of the combe meet amid bog, grass and scattered rocks. Richard's description, that "evil probably derives from the miner's name for a pick", is doubtless correct, but the close juxtaposition of tin workings and bog in this place gives the name a certain resonance. |
