Description

MEDIUM
EARLY.
Wirieties.)
Henderson's Heroine Pea.
•HEROINE. Combines quantity and quality in
a deyree possessed by no other variety. The
Heroine is a medium early, green wrinkled Pea, grows
uniformly about two and one-half feet high and is liter-
ally covered with its long, heavy, pointed pods — in fact,
so striking and distinct is this variety that it would be
picked out at once in a field of one hundred other
varieties. In the cut we show the size and form
of the peas, which come eight or nine in a pod.
The quality of this Pea is simply perfection —
that rich, buttery, marrow-like flavor for which
the peas grown in the gardens of Old England
are celebrated. (See cut.) 10c. pkt., 20c. pt.,
30c. qt., $1.40 peck, $5.00 bushel.

  • HORSFORD'S MARKET GARDEN. A grand

wrinkled variety, coming in between Little Gem
and Advancer. The vines are two feet high,
very regular in growth. It is a prolific bearer,
and has yielded more shelled peas per acre than
any other American variety. The pods, although
of medium size, are numerous, and are literally
packed with peas of a delicious, sweet flavor.
(See cut.) 10c. pkt., 15c. pt., 25c. qt., $1.25 peck,
$4.00 bushel.
♦ABUNDANCE. A second early variety attaining a height of 3 feet. Pods, 3 to
33^ inches long, roundish and well filled, containing 6 to 8 large wrinkled peas of
excellent quality. This variety is remarkable for bi'anching directly from the
roots. 10c. pkt., 15c. pt., 25c. qt., $1.25 peck, $4.00 bushel.
FILLBASKET. This variety is one of the best second early Peas in cultivation ;
a heavy cropper; of excellent flavor. Height, 3.^ feet. 10c. pkt., 15c. pt., 25c.
qt.. $1.25 peck, S4.00 bushel.

  • SHROPSHIRE HERO. A robust grower, about 3 feet high, producing long,

handsome and well-filled pods in abundance. Flavor exquisite. We recommend
it. 10c. pkt., 1.5c. pt., 25c. qt., $1.25 peck, $4.00 bushel.

  • THE ADMIRAL. The heaviest cropping second early Pea extant. Grows to a

height of from 3.4 to 4 feet ; with-a great profusion of pods from top to bottom of
the vine. 10c. pUt, 15c. pt., 25c. qt., $1.25 peck, $1.00 bushel.
OUR CUSTOMERS WRITE OF IT;
" We much prefer
THE HEROINE."
" The Choice of all Large-
Podded, Wrinkled Peas."
"Peas Large and very Prolific,
Often 10, sometimes
12, Peas to a Pod."
-HEROINE PEA
IS A MARVEL."
"Fairly Melting in your
Mouth for Sweetness."

(PETIT POIS. The genuine small French Pea.
We have had frequent calls from customers for
the real French Peas, such as they have eaten in
Paris. This we have succeeded in getting, and
now offer the genuine "French Petit Pols."
The pods are long and slim and contain 8 to 10
small peas of tender, delicate quality. The
vines are vigorous and branching, attaining a
height of from 3 to 4 feet. This variety is me-
dium early and extremely prolific. .See cut.)
