Description

CLEOME PUNGENS.
"Giant Spider Plant." A showy garden annual,
producing curious heads of flowers of bright rose
color with lone astenna'-like stamens of easy culti-
vation, blooming early until late. 4to5 feet. .Pit. ^
(GOLD-LEAVED, SWEET-SCENTED.)
The plants. 12 to 18 inches high, form compact
bushes, with leaves of bright golden yellow; small
lilac-red flowers, perfuming the air with their
sweetness ^'^'- ^"
COBEA.
Elegant, rapid-growing climbers, attaining a height
of 20 to 30 feet. Particularly desirable for covering
arbors, walls, etc. Can be grown in the conservatory
in winter. Flowers large and well-shaped.

A remarkablv prettv annual climber: luxuriant ivy-
like foliage: small flowers followed by numerous fruits
2 inches long, which turn to brilliant scarlet, spotted

Plants with richlv-colored foliage of maroon, green,
crimson, vellow, etc. For groups on lawns and
ribboning thev are indispensable, and also valuable
for pot culture. Although perennials, they attain
