Description

New Bedding Ger anium Q enera . FuflStOn.
A beautiful semi-double sport of the well known bedding Geranium
Double Gen. Grant. In general habit and foliage it resembles the
parent variety. The color is a deep salmon throughout the flower and
a shade that does not conflict with any of the salmon varieties now on the
market. In our grounds the past season it has proved itself one of the best
bedding varieties we have ever grown, flowering freely and continuously from
early in the season until frost.
The cut above shows a bed of this variety edged with Alternanthera Jewell
(see page 173) planted by us in the Convention Garden at Boston, Mass.,
last year which received Honorable Mention.
Price 25c. each, $2.50 per doz., $12.00 per 100. Not less than 50 sold at
the 100 rate.
New Single Geraniums of 1914.
Antithese. Large round flowers of a vermilion scarlet color with a large spot on
upper petals; great contrast of color, robust, very floriferous.

beautiful salmon-carmine with white eye. A very attractive variety.
Count Zeppelin. Plant is robust, has good habit. Color is intense fiery red.
Long straight flower stalks support the large trusses high above the foliage.
Jean Pabon. Robust and free flowering, enormous trusses held well above the
foliage, grand round flowers. The color is blood red with small white eye.
Jean Rose. The color is rosy-carmine, upper petals maculated white. The
plant is a strong compact grower, flower stems long.
Secretaire Barat. Beautiful flowers of fine form; carmine lake shaded bright
salmon. A constant bloomer, standing our extreme climatic conditions
in excellent shape.
New Double Geraniums of 1914.
Albert de Lapparent. Immense aurora rose flowers. Has large white eye.
One of the best varieties yet introduced of its class and color.
Helen Michell. A splendid bedding variety, a profuse bloomer and above
all, remarkable for the size and brilliancy of the flowers which are of the
clearest possible shade of scarlet.
Joachim du Beallay. Plant of good habit, very free flowering. A beautiful
shade of rosy-white, large semi-double flowers.
M. C. Poinsot. Semi-double flowers, clear carmine-like color with white eye.
Flowers very freely.
Mme. Paola Radaelli. The trusses are large and beautifully" formed. Bloom
freely all summer. Color creamy white. Growth sturdy and compact.
Scarlet Bedder. In color it is intermediate between S. A. Nutt and Alphonse
Ricard, being brighter or approaching nearer to scarlet than either of the
above varieties. Growth sturdy, similar to that of Alphonse Ricard. A
distinct and valuable bedding Geranium.
Price for the above (Single and Double) 25c. each, $2.50 per doz.
Collection of 12 New Single and Double Geraniums for 1914, $2.50.
new geranium AMERICAN BEAUTY.
This variety was named American Beauty by the introducer because the
color is almost identically the color of the popular rose of that name. The
beautiful semi-double flowers are deep rosy-carmine, shaded with carmine-
crimson. They are not effected by extremes of weather. The habit is perfect;
semi-dwarf branching and compact; the trusses are produced on long stems
held well above the foliage. A free and continuous bloomer either in pots
or for bedding.
Price 25c. each, $2.50 per doz.
