HENDERSON'S SELECTION OF
THE BEST SMALL ROUND
RADISHES
WHITE-TIPPED EARLY SCARLET TURNIP RADISH. For
many years we have found this variety to be the most popular of
all among private gardeners. It is a most satisfactory sort in
every respect, and unsurpassed as a table Radish, where by reason
of the strong contrasting colors of the root, it makes a most
attractive appearance. The roots are round, of medium size,
brilliant scarlet in color, except at the under side, which is pure
white. The flesh is crisp, white and tender; and when properly
grown, extremely mild. (See cut.) Price, 5c. pkt., 10c. oz., 30c.
M lb., $1.00 lb.
EARLY WHITE TURNIP RADISH. Both flesh and skin of this
variety are white throughout. The clear white skin has a pecul-
iar waxy gloss which adds much to its attractiveness, especially
when combined with the scarlet-rooted sorts. It is rather flat,
grows quickly, is very tender, and extremely mild in flavor.
(See cut.) Price, 10c. pkt, 15c. oz., 30c. \i lb., $1.00 lb.
EARLY ROUND DARK RED RADISH. The darkest colored of
the round red varieties and an excellent sort for family use. The
roots are round, the tops medium in size. The flesh is pure
white, crisp and quite tender. If properly thinned, this variety
is rather slow to become pithy. (See cut.) Price, 5c. pkt., 10c.
oz., 30c. M lb., $1.00 lb.
HENDERSON'S ROSE TURNIP
RADISH. This variety is distin-
guished by its color, which is a
charming shade of rosy-pink. In
other respects, it closely resembles
the better known Scarlet Turnip.
It grows very quickly, maturing
in 30 days. The tops and roots
are of medium size, and the flesh
is pure white, crisp, and of good
flavor. Its attractive color gives
it great value for use in the pri-
vate garden, while its charming
appearance makes it welcome on
any table. Price, 10c. pkt, 15c.
oz., 30c. % lb., $1.00 lb.

THE COLLECTION
OF FOUR EARLY
ROUND RADISHES
This comprises the four varieties
offered in the opposite column. We
urge the purchase of this collec-
tion; it assures a pleasing contrast
of color on the table. Price, 1 pkt.
each, for 25c. ; 1 oz. each, for 40c. ;
% lb. each, for $1.00.
These small , round varieties are the
best for the private garden, and if
grown as advised in our pamphlet will
be tender, crisp, well flavored, and
quite free from excessive pungency.
The forcing varieties listed below
have very small tops and roots.
Grown under glass they will mature
in 2 1 days, although they are some-
what slower when grown outdoors.

It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
