henderson's perfected
White Plume Celeky
BLANCHES QUICKLY AND THOROUGHLY
MAY BE USED EARLY IN SEPTEMBER
This is the oldest of the self-blanching sorts, and is still immensely
popular. It is by far the most attractive of all in appearance, and
grows so easily that it should find a place in every garden. Under
ordinary conditions, and if started early, it may be ready to blanch
early in September, and be fit for use a few days later. Its slim,
delicately brittle stalks, surmounted with their graceful, ornamental
foliage, are unsurpassed from a decorative standpoint, while its
delicious flavor and crisp tenderness captivate the most fastidious
appetite. (See cut.) Price, 10c. pkt., 45c. oz., $1.60 \i lb., $6.00 lb.
"We found your White Plume Celery seed perfect in germination."
JACOB NEY, Jr., Siege, Cal.
" I had the finest crop of Henderson's White Plume Celery last fall ever raised in
this section, and so acknowledged by every one who saw it. Had plenty of stalks,
pure while, two feet long, crisp and elegant." 0. G. BRIAN, Dykmans, N. Y.
"After experience in Celery culture for many years, your White Plume Celery
was the best we ever had. The stalks were white from root to leaf, and when prepared
for the table measured twenty-three inches. Everybody said it was the most beautiful
Celery they ever saw." T. B. McILWAIN, Napier, Ont., Can.
"Have always been told that the White Plume Celery was not a good keeping
variety. We used the last of ours on April 2d and it was in fine condition, flavor
as fine as ever. Raised from seed purchased from you last year."
Miss KATHER1NE GLENN, Linesville, Pa.
" Your White Plume Celery that I had last season was good. I do not think there
were over one hundred plants in two acres that went to seed."
WILSON BURR, Broadalbin, N. Y.
SELF^BLANCHING CELERIES
This is the name given to a number
of varieties, which by reason of theiry
earliness, and the short time
required for the blanch-
ing process, are indis-
pensable for the earliest t
crops.
HENDERSON'S SUPERIOR
GOLDEN SELF-BLANCHING CELERY
An excellent variety of French origin. This is the variety grown largely for market,
but it is equally valuable for the private garden. It is very early, blanches quickly and
its rich color makes it quite attractive. The habit of the plant is short and stocky;
the stalks are broad, thick and very solid. It develops a large heart quite early
in its growth, which makes the
greater part of the plant edible.
It is fit for use early in Septem-
ber, and remains in use until
the 'later winter sorts mature.
(See cut.) Price, 15c. pkt., $2.00
oz., $7.00 \i lb.
"Henderson's seeds have given fine
results here in Billings. Our Golden
Self-blanching Celery, grown from Hen-
derson's seed has attracted special atten-
tion. Have increased our crop from
twenty thousand in 1911 to one hundred
thousand in 1913, and will plant a larger
crop in 1914 than ever."
WELLER & CISSEL,
R. D. No. 1, Billings, Mon.
"Just a few words of esteem regarding
your Self-blanching Celery. It certainly
was fine, crisp and tender. Every seed
must have grown."
Mrs. H. WHITEHEAD,
Easton, Pa.
" Want to say that this is my fifth
successive year in buying of you your
superior Golden Self-blanching Celery
seed, and each time so far I have had
good success, and for that reason I am
buying of you again."
G. J. HAFENDORFER,
Greeley, Colo.
Their value is so pronounced
that probably go per cent, of
11 the Celery marketed in
the United States is of
this class.

Public domain

This tag is designed for use where there may be a need to assert that any enhancements (eg brightness, contrast, colour-matching, sharpening) are in themselves insufficiently creative to generate a new copyright. It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.

Note: This tag applies to scans and photocopies only. For photographs of public domain originals taken from afar, {{PD-Art}} may be applicable. See Commons:When to use the PD-Art tag.
