Title: Everglades Lounge at the Clewiston Inn: Clewiston, Florida

Date: January 1948

General Note: The Clewiston Inn, located on U.S. 27 in Clewiston, Florida, was built by the Southern Sugar Company (later U.S. Sugar Corporation) in 1926 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1931 and rebuilt in 1938. The mural in the Everglades Lounge was created by J. Clinton Shepherd in the 1940s.

Additional Note: Photo was taken at the end of a cruise from Fort Myers to Clewiston aboard the Shantyboat Lazy Bones (see previous images in photostream).
