Naast hem de gevleugelde leeuw. Links op de achtergrond de herrezen Christus, bij de opening van de hel (de gapende muil van het monster). Rechts op de achtergrond het visioen van de profeet Ezechiël van het dal van dorre beenderen. De profeet kijkt omhoog naar God de Vader. In de marge een vierregelig onderschrift, in twee kolommen, in het Latijn.
