Description
English: Evan J. Crane, often referred to as Jay, graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a B.A. from Ohio State University in 1911. In 1914, he married Marie Grant, also of Columbus. At the time this article was written, the couple had one child, Grant Crane. Mr. Crane was an editor of Chemical Abstracts, a publication of Ohio State University. When Upper Arlington was incorporated as a village, Mr. Crane was elected to the first group of village commissioners. He was a founding member of the Upper Arlington Golf Club on Chelsea Road and was very active in all Upper Arlington sporting events. The Crane family lived at 1788 Coventry Road.
