to the others. A very similar reliquaryis in the Stiftskirche at Gerresheim. At St. Gereon s Church, at Cologne, are twofamous reliquaries in the shape of arms adornedwith small plaques of early thirteenth-centuryenamel. At Treves there is an interesting triptych of thetwelfth century in Champleve, with scenes fromthe life of St. Andrew; as also a cover of a bookof the Gospels of about the same period, adornedwith plaques of Champleve pinned down to it, andinterspersed between rough jewels set in gilt silver.(A much better one of the same character is in themuseum at Berlin.) In the Royal Hohenzollern Museum at Sigma-ringen, there is a good collection of interestingmediaeval works. In one, a reliquary, the mode ofwork is very clearly shown, for the enamel has notbeen entirely polished down, consequently in partsthe original melted surface can be seen.
