English: A species of Fairy shrimps (Anostraca), Eubranchipus grubii. This is a post-larval/immature/juvenile stage of about 10 mm length.
Deutsch: Der Feenkrebs oder Kiemenfuß (Eubranchipus grubii) ist ein sogenannter "Urzeitkrebs", der im Frühjahr in kurzzeitig wasserführenden (astatischen) Überschwemmungs- bzw. Qualmwassertümpeln von Flussauen auftreten kann. Dieses leuchtend orange Exemplar ist kaum länger als 10 mm und stellt noch nicht die Adultform, sondern ein spätes Larven- bzw. Jungtierstadium ("Postmetanauplius-Stadium") dar. Die Art häutet sich vom Schlupf aus den Dauereiern bis zur Geschlechtsreife etwa 40-mal. Erst zuletzt bilden sich sichtbare geschlechtsspezifische Merkmale heraus (Männchen: vergrößertes 2. Antennenpaar am Kopf, Weibchen: Brutsack mit Eiern). Wo Feenkrebse vorkommen, kann manchmal auch noch der Schuppenschwanz (Lepidurus apus), ein weitläufiger Verwandter, gefunden werden. |
